In this article, we will consider England: today and its role in history. The first step, in analyzing England, is to decide on a birth date. Let us assume it to be either:
--October 14, 1066, the Battle of Hastings, when the Normans crossed the English channel from France and defeated England's forces led by King Harold, and Harold was killed. This date would make England a Libra.
--or, on December 25, 1066, the Norman Duke of Normandy, William II, was crowned King of England. This date would make England a Capricorn.
The Normans were originally Vikings who settled in France, and had mostly departed from their old Viking ways of raids and looting. However, they still did get the urge for a sea excursion now and then, and invading England was one of these expeditions. Following their settlement, the French-speaking Normans dominated England, and for several generations the English Kings spoke French. Ultimately, the Norman invasion of England resulted in it's becoming a stronger nation, and therefore was a critical turning point in England's history.
As mentioned above, the October 14 date for the Battle of Hastings makes England a Libra, with the Scales the astrological symbol. This makes sense, since the Scales are the symbol of law, and English Law has been a principal innovation of England, that it exported throughout its former world-encircling empire. English law has been the basis for legal systems developed in much of the world's nations, including the U.S.. English common law brought: trial by jury, law schools where law was learned by a legal profession, lawyers. In fact, in the history of the western world, the development of complete and coherent legal systems occurred in the Roman Empire and England. England's common law brought fairness and consistency in the application of the law, and order to society.
The December 25 date makes England a Capricorn. This astrological sign actually fits the national character of England better, since Capricorns frequently are strong-willed and ambitious. So this sign certainly fits a nation with a history of empire-building. Maybe, both of these signs are relevant to understand England.
Another astrological event of 1066 AD was the appearance of a bright Halley's comet earlier in that year. The comet is shown on the Bayeux tapestry, with King Harold depicted wondering over this ominous sign in the sky. Comets are considered omens of change in mythology. So, this indicates a significant event in the history of the world was taking place at the Battle of Hastings.
Another clue to England's role in history can be found by looking at its shape on a map: England (including Scotland) looks like a club or pick-ax, with Scotland being the pick-ax handle. This is a clue to England's role in history, as a warrior nation, creating a world-wide empire. Frequently the pick-ax has been used in a good way, stopping the barbarians: Hitler, Napoleon, etc.. On the negative side, if you look at the map again, it looks like the pick-ax has taken a chunk out of Ireland. My point here is that the shapes of countries are related to their destinies in history, as if there is a grand design. For example, Greece looks like the flames of a fire, with the base of the fire on Greece's northern border. The fire would be knowledge, with Western civilization beginning in Greece. Another example would be Egypt, resembling a pyramid, but with only one sloping side. Also, the Netherlands looks like a fish-hook; this also is appropriate, considering this country's strong connection to the sea. You can see the same type of pattern with other countries, also.
The pick-ax shape of England is actually indicative of its destiny. Think of it this way: England was destined to be a warrior nation, to create a great empire, for a reason: to spread its English system of law around the world. That was the plan.
Concerning the traditions of England and their role in its destiny, an odd event occurred recently that was considered a bad omen. Eight ravens (a type of crow) are kept together in the 900 year old Tower of London, and it is believed that these birds must be on duty at all times, or the kingdom will fall. Recently a police dog killed one of the birds; it was quickly replaced with another bird. But this was considered a bad omen in the British media. So did anything ominous occur after this bird incident? Well, there was the Charles-Diana divorce, although their divorce hardly seems to endanger the Kingdom. Also, Mad Cow Disease did become a problem recently; this brain disease in people was caused by eating infected British beef. British cattle had been fed parts of sheep that had been infected with the brain disease, resulting in an epidemic of the disease in the cattle. Recently a few cases of the brain disease have appeared in people in England, but at this stage no one knows whether a widespread human epidemic will result in England, since the disease takes years to develop.
So how about Prince Charles, what could be his destiny, will he one day be King of England? His birthday of November 14, 1948, classifies him as a Scorpio. Scorpios can fly like an Eagle, and be leaders and philosophers, or they can sting like a scorpion. A significant event concerning Charles's birth was the appearance of a bright comet, seen only in Africa during a solar eclipse on November 1, 1948. This comet combined with the solar eclipse near his birthday, gives us an important omen concerning Charles. Therefore I believe Charles will have an important destiny, important to England and to the world.
