Having recently had Pluto cross my MC and been exposed to the intensity of
the disruption of my life, I've been waiting with trepidation for Uranus
and Neptune to cross my ascendant and speculating on how my life is going
to change forever. Imagine my surprise, then, when I realized that there
is one very famous person in the world who just went through this and had
all the gory details documented in papers and tabloids around the world.
Who is this poor soul? Why, Queen Elizabeth! With 25 Scorpio on the MC
and 21 Capricorn on the ASC, the Queen of England went through her Annus
Horriblis in 1992-93 as the aforementioned planets hit her angles.
Does anyone need to be reminded of the family problems the Windsor's had
with Prince Andrew and Fergie followed soon afterwards by Prince Charles
and Princess Diana? Just about everytime the Queen thought that things
couldn't get any worse, something new would pop up in the papers damaging
to the monarchy!
A marital rift develops between Charles and Diana. He's committing
adultery. She's making the headlines in the tabloids as a bulemic and
thought to have attempted suicide several times. Then the tapes come
out of Charles joking with his mistress, Camilla, that maybe he'd come
back in a second life as a tampax so he could be closer to her. Diana
demands a separation, but no monarch in modern times has ever been divorced
and the Queen tries desperately to keep them together. Then tapes are
released of Diana talking to HER lover. The Queen must have been going
through her own personal hell during this time.
But that wasn't the end of it. No, Fergie had a mind of her own and when
left to her own devices while Prince Andrew was off at sea in the Royal
Navy, she took on several lovers. The pictures of Fergie, topless and with
her latest lover sucking on her toes, surely must have made the Queen cringe
-- she, whose sole purpose in life has been to uphold the dignity of the
monarchy, saw it plunged into it's darkest depths.
As if this wasn't enough, Windsor Castle catches fire (the Queens favorite
home) and considerable damage is done. This was perhaps the only time the
world has seen the Queen look so vulnerable. There she was in the court-
yard, standing in the rain watching her home go up in smoke. Never one to
display her emotions or any commonplace feelings towards her children, the
moment was upsetting enough to have her lay her head on Prince Edward's
chest as if seeking solace.
Looking at her chart, we can see that as Pluto hovers around her MC and
opposes her 4th house it seems as though the very fabric of her family is
ripped to shreds and transformed into something totally different than what
she was used to.
Other aspects made around this time were a square to her Mars, ruler of her
2nd house. The people of Britain did not want to pay for all the damage
done to Windsor Castle and demanded that a large portion of it come from
her pocket.
Then a T-square to her Jupiter/Neptune opposition. Jupiter rules her 11th
house. In 1993 she lost the dearest, closest friend she had, but that's not
all. The 11th also represents her child's spouse. She didn't lose them
through death, but they certainly were behaving underhandedly and in an
excessive manner that brought her considerable grief.
So, what did Uranus and Neptune crossing the ASC bring into her life? Chaos. Uncertainty. Doubts about the future of the monarchy. Many changes in the way personal affairs are handled. The first time in several generation that a monarch offered to pay taxes. She allowed Diana to officially separate from Charles (unheard of for a Prince expected to become King). The calm and expected routine of royal life became everything but that. Her life has been transformed in ways she never imagined.
Sometimes, those of us who live ordinary lives wonder what the transit of
Pluto to the MC will bring. Or how Uranus and Neptune conjuncting the ASC
will affect us. What if all that happened at roughly the same time? Just
how would it shake up our chart?
