NEW BOOK REVIEW:

Title: Vocations: The New Midheaven Extension Process
By: Noel Tyl
Published: 2006
Publisher: Llewellyn Publications
ISBN: 0-7387-0778-3
Note: 2nd book in the Llewellyn's Special Topics in Astrology series

Noel Tyl never fails to deliver a cogent analysis of his topic. This time he takes on the significators of vocation in the natal chart using the Midheaven. Like a detective, he follows the intricate path of clues and arrives at a possible solution for each of the 61 example charts.

If you've wondered what career you should pick, or whether the one you are in is really suitable for you, this book should help you understand where you shine the brightest.

The prolific Tyl tackles the subject clearly and objectively, but just as some things are not the for weak of heart, this book is not for the weak of intellect. To understand Tyl's reasoning, you will need a substantial grounding in some advanced astrological concepts. When you see what his methods can accomplish, you'll be inclined to raise the bar of your astrological knowledge.

My personal gauge for judging the merits of any astrology book is whether it rings true with what I know of my own life and chart. While I haven't been fortunate enough to have some of the higher echelon careers, there are definitely echos that sound familiar to my ear.
