PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Handsome in his younger years. Slender and tall with graceful hands. His wife thought him to be beautiful. He was nothing at all like his Hanoverian relatives who tended to be coarse and heavy.
PERSONALITY:
Prudish, standoffish, critical. Playful with his children (especially the girls) and loved them all dearly. Creative. Thrifty and a careful planner who helped bring the monarchy back to it's former popularity. Serious, capable. Had a thirst for knowledge with formidable self-discipline.
COMMENTS:
Separated from his mother at age of five when his father accused her of adultery.
TIMELINE:
