| Slender, doe-eyed, unusually long neck and arms. |
| PERSONALITY: |
| Premature birth. His mother was watching ice skaters on Frogmore pond when labor pains began. He was lazy, dull, apathetic, sleepy, irresponsible, very backward (near idiocy), and had an extremely short attention span (perhaps he had A.D.D.?) Nevertheless, he was attractive to women. Thought to be panerotic and speculated to be Jack the Ripper, but no conclusive proof was ever established. |
| COMMENTS: |
| Contracted syphyllis at age 16 while on a world tour. He was a little deaf and suffered from gout. He was very devoted to his brother, Prince George (later GEORGE V), who was the only one who seemed able to arouse him from his lethargic behavior. He was slated to marry Mary of Teck, but he died the day before the wedding of pneumonia. There has also been speculation that he was poisoned due to the extreme agony which he exhibited at death. His overall unsuitability for the throne is apparently the reasoning behind this suspicion.
